Abstract / Description of output
The Digital Art Biennial 2022 was the second edition of the event presented in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil from November 12 2022 to January 22, 2023, at the Oi Futuro Cultural Center, in Flamengo. The event had around 70,000 visitors Sponsorship was from Oi Futuro and the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy (SECEC-RJ)
The short film 'an exercise in solitude' (Hood, 5mins 38secs, 2022) was competitively selected for inclusion in the biennial exhibition, from an international open call. The subtitles were translated into Portuguese for the exhibition.
The program featured artists from Brazil, Chile, China, Spain, the United States, Italy, Mexico and the United Kingdom, presenting exhibitions, performances and symposia with the theme “Hybrid Languages”. If we deal with “Hybrid Languages” as the impossible separation between art, science and technology, producers of tools capable of manufacturing new realities, new life experiences. In Conditions of Existence, we seek to understand, think about and propose forms of coexistence.
How to coexist, “live” and “be” in the dimension of a biotechnological and post-digital world?
The questioning is comprehensive when one realizes that existence takes place from different and multiple perspectives. The perspectives on “how to exist” and its “conditions” are, in a way, an infinite exercise in the way of perceiving and living the world. A look towards coexistence.
