Blush: Alt-w Touring exhibition at Travelling Gallery

Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

Abstract

Alt-w: Blush Response is a partnership with New Media Scotland and includes virtual reality, interaction and animation.

As part of the Festival of Architecture 2016 the Alt-w Fund has commissioned a series of new works for the Travelling Gallery by artists based in Scotland and working in digital media.

Artworks in the exhibition include intricately made animated paper models by Charles Young, each only a few centimetres high, virtual reality headsets exploring Brutalist Architecture by Dennis and Debbie Club, painting by Torsten Lauschmann collaborating with The Bothy Project and an interactive drawing following the map if the Crinan Canal by ~in the fields.

Each artwork has two elements: a smaller work which will travel in the gallery, and another work sited at a specific place in Scotland. The Travelling Gallery will visit each site once during the tour, and when the two artworks meet they will 'blush' in response to each other.
