Abstract

Equisetum hetero-trans-β-glucanase (HTG) preferentially catalyses hetero-transglycosylation, transferring a length of mixedlinkage β-glucan (MLG) polysaccharide to xyloglucan. We elucidated the MLG glycosyl sequence cleaved, and show HTG can attack MLG at any such sequence, irrespective of its distance from the termini.
