Abstract
Bridging the Gap 13 celebrates women in front and behind the camera. Four Scottish female directors gently explore the here and now in Scotland from integrity to transgression:
- A Deaf stand-up comedian performs in sign language fulfilling her dream to make people laugh as well as bringing Deaf Culture to mainstream audiences
- Like most teenagers April loves dancing, swimming and exploring. But locked into a sensory world, she has no understanding of adulthood.
- A personal insight into the relationship between a daughter and her trans parent as they embark on the road to transition
- A devoted family await to discover if teenager Darren will stay at the club that he plays for.
All 4 films are exploratory in their documentary language and engage with audiences in different ways.
