CARNEVALE is a newspaper publication which brings together the voices and expressions of artists, writers, animal behaviour scientists and farm animals. It details an event which took place at Easter Howgate Farm, Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) in April 2017.

The pigs’ participation was integral to the project. Within the newspaper their interaction is portrayed through photographic documentation and video made accessible by QR code. The video shows the pigs investigative exploration of objects using their bodies and snouts. During play they reveal their immense enthusiasm and curiosity to explore novel objects.

CARNEVALE can also be viewed in the online magazine 'The Learned Pig'.

The project was supported by The Leverhulme Trust, Museum of English Rural Life (MERL), Edinburgh College of Art and SRUC.
