Abstract / Description of output

Indole-5-carboxylic acid trimer, a major product formed during the electropolymerization of indole-5 carboxylic acid. was characterized by H-1 NMR spectroscopy, and a wide range of one- and two-dimensional NMR techniques were employed to allow full analysis of the H-1 spectrum. Homonuclear NOE experiments were carried out in different solvents and at different temperatures, owing to the unusual observation of negative enhancements in some experiments. This was shown to be due to the slow tumbling rate of the molecule.
