CLOTHED BY PLANTS: Pittenweem art festival - invited artist

Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

Abstract / Description of output

Five artists have chosen to create artefacts made from plants using their individual style. All have been inspired by the extraordinary woven grass clothes made by Angus MacPhee who was a patient in hospital for 50 years.

Caroline Dear, Joanne Kaar, Linda Green and Joyce Laing, inspired by the art of Angus MacPhee, use plants found in their locality including rushes, moss, grass, bog cotton. Screen prints by Mike Inglis feature narratives inspired by Hebredean culture and Angus's work in particular.
