Abstract / Description of output

Introduction

Many ocular diseases can be diagnosed by direct ophthalmologic examination. Diagnostic imaging is helpful if ocular structures are obscured by opaque structures such as oedema, pigmentation, inflammation, degeneration, hemorrhage, trauma or neoplasia or in the presence of orbital diseases originating from the orbit or extending from neighboring tissue. Cats have several conditions of the orbital cavity and eye that benefit from CT or MRI imaging. This presentation discusses the pros and cons of CT and MRI for these conditions.
