Abstract / Description of output

Cutlog: Re-imagining Wonderland was a programme of short-films, competitively selected from an open call for moving image works under 10 minutes, in response to the theme Re-imagining Wonderland, exploring ideas around issues of change and adaptation in today’s world. The selected programme included 'an exercise in solitude' (Hood, 5mins 38secs, 2022), a short film made on iPhone, about walking as a way to re-think solitude and the impact of technologies on our social, and ecological existence.

The programme of films was exhibited as part of the SSA 130 Year | Annual Exhibition (Society of Scottish Artists) at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, from 17th Dec 2022 - 10 January 2023. The film works were screened within an installation by artist Mike Inglis, made entirely from recycled materials. The works were then available to view online via the SSA Viewing Rooms from 24 January - 24 February 2023. An in conversation event to discuss 'an exercise in solitude' was held on Saturday 7th January, 2023 at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh.

CutLog is a group of artists in Scotland who have come together to create new opportunities for moving-image artists.
