Abstract / Description of output

A design framework for the evaluation of multi-bed/multi-step Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) cycles for CO2 capture is introduced. The framework addresses the need to have a compact and effective representation of cycle configurations. This is necessary for the development and implementation of a flowsheet design framework for the synthesis of PSA cycles. Cycle configurations can be assessed through multi-criteria optimisation to take into account the trade-offs between conflicting aspect of the performance. The effect of cycle configuration has been investigated for 5 multi-step/multi-bed PSA cycles from the literature.
