Abstract

The text focuses on a series of general suggestions for preventing Internet crime in regard to the distribution of child abuse images. Instead of the usual approach of addressing the perpetrators'deviant personality structure, it queries the particular criminogenic qualities which the Internet with its technological structure readies. The authors point out that the speed of the Internet makes it into something like a wish-fulfilling machine; they work out the affordance character of Internet links, i.e. the invariability of their command structure. Rather than dealing with social-based initiatives, the authors investigate the technological means with which this misuse of the Internet can be combated.
