Abstract / Description of output

The performance of a structure in fire is related to more than the effects of fire upon the individual members which make up the structure. Due to the relative lack of available experimental data, the effects of real post-flashover fires on concrete structures must be examined to provide for computer modelling. Initial results of structural modelling of a section of the Windsor Tower in Madrid are consistent with the observation that the only failure of the concrete floor slab was in regions where the perimeter steel columns lacked fire protection.
