Abstract

This video shares information about the Engagement and Involvement Practices in Abortion Care: Collectively Envisioning Futures workshop, hosted by Nicola Boydell in July 2024. Supported by the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Biomedicine, Self, and Society and facilitated in partnership with AndThen, a Glasgow-based design agency, the workshop brought together a diverse group of participants from sectors including activism, academia, policy-making and healthcare. Through creative, generative methods, the event focused on reimagining meaningful involvement and engagement practices in abortion care, mapping the existing landscape and developing ambitious, utopian visions for the future. This video highlights key insights from the workshop, highlighting collective efforts to rethink engagement practices, identify barriers and explore actionable steps to drive change in both research and practice. The workshop forms part of ongoing work to advance involvement and engagement practices in abortion care.
