Abstract

This paper is a contribution to a volume which seeks to establish a research agenda for the comparative history of insurance law in Europe. The chapter surveys and analyses the historiography of insurance law in Scotland and England with a view to establishing points of contact and difference between those jurisdictions and the rest of Europe.
