Abstract
Research: output 1:
Evoking empathy to create a Sustainable future:
Is the above possible? I will address the above during my research.
During my research I have become aware that in order to teach/inform and ‘make a difference’ with regards to the above I need to also focus my research .
I have identified that my research will be directed towards Commercial Textile Design studios. I will question the studios and the students response to the above issues.I need to narrow my research as this is such a huge subject and my research has shown that I now need to find ways of engaging students/studios with this subject in order to address the above.
My aim is to work with Textile Design studios ,which I have identified through my work in organising 3rd year studio placements.
I aim to question their respondsibility within the industry. I will document my findings from them.I am also working with our textile students to question their response to my research .
I need to find out if by informing them if this then makes a difference to them as -designers/people?????
In order to keep up to date with information I would like to attend:2-3 sustainability conferences-EFF(London)
Transfer this info to directly impact on :my research / TEXTILE students/group seminars.
My aim to digest some of the valuable but (at times over whelming information I have gained about Sustainability ) and direct it .
I will also link this research to my own design practise which sustainability is very important.

Become involved with this inspiring community of individuals. Liase with restoration specialists and question the connection locally of this need to restore this work –
Perhaps question why this group of women want to do this work.?This also links with my own textile work --creating something precious that can be passed from generation to generation---
I also want to be able to practically help to restore though my ‘love’ of sewing a particular pair of 17thh century curtains – I want to be part of a team to work with other people.
Within this research I also want to question my own area and heritage within this field.
