Abstract / Description of output

Evaluates the competence, actions and policies by the Council of Europe and the European Union to protect and promote cultural heritage. Considers the scope for duplication of action and potential conflict as a result of the growing confidence of the European Union in the field. The chapter also notes the existence of important synergies in outlook and policy that can form the basis for constructive collaboration in the future.
