Abstract / Description of output
Notions of data are increasingly linked to digital instantiations, such as databases, that are often geared towards prioritising the productivity and efficiency of the global economic system at the expense of our ability to understand reality and reconcile human and nonhuman worlds. To
promote ecological perception, we have developed a workshop as a methodological toolkit that uses living organisms to provoke a rethinking of data, reconnects to their contextual relationships, and speculates on ecological possibilities with human and nonhuman trends. The responses to the
workshop demonstrate the potential for rethinking data and promoting ecological awareness.
