Abstract
Electro-acoustic experimental film scores to films from the Jean Desmet Dream Factory as part of the exhibition at EYE Amsterdam from 14 December 2014 - 15 March 2015. The films were made between 1907-1916 and feature stylised documentary, as well as dramatic/comical content. The scoring of these films reflects alternative scoring practices that accentuate the stark production style, while experimenting with non-direct musical support. Various new sonic practices in recording, production and performance are tested. The film titles are the following:
1. Suisse Merveilleuse (for clarinet, string quartet and electronics)
2. Watersnood in Noord Holland (for kalimba, guitar, cello and electronics)
3. Tra le Pinete di Rodi (for violin, recordings and electronics)
4. Tripoli (for Enanga and electronics)
5. Smyrne (for recordings and electronics)
