Finite electron mass effects on ion-acoustic solitons in a two electron temperature plasma

Abstract

We study solitons in a plasma with two isothermal electron components. Rather than assuming Boltzmann electron distributions, finite electron mass is included in the fluid equations. A considerably reduced existence domain in parameter space is found; in particular the soliton amplitude is limited.
