Abstract

FLY 2016 at the Royal Scottish Academy was the final Visual Arts Scotland exhibition with Robbie Bushe as President and lead curator. FLY 2016 was redefined its role and public engagement and placed a greater emphasis on contemporary appleid arts and makers in the digital age. FLY 2016 included:
Craft Scotland Celebrates: A curatorial collaboration curation with Craft Scotland showcasing the works of ceramic artists James Rigler, Dawn Youll and Susan O'Byrne
The Cordis Prize (small works) for tapestry short list 2016
Graduate Showcase from Scottish Art Colleges focusing on makers.
200 works by members and and non members selected from an open submission of over 1300.
FLY 2016 was accompanied by a publication
