Abstract
The law governing how the UK trades with the rest of the world has changed a lot because of Brexit. This article seeks to familiarise the reader to the process of transformation of trade law, from the EU internal market to the new status quo of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, not without explaining the effects that a “no deal” scenario would have entailed. Ultimately, this account should make clear that the current arrangements are better understood and assessed as a decent free trade agreement (better than trading on WTO terms), rather than an adjustment of the preferential relationship of the internal market.
