Abstract / Description of output
This is Yale's first ever 'born digital' e-book, commissioned as part of the launch of their new A&A ePortal. The anthology of 16 essays is concerned with the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century circulation and translation of impressionist art, artists, dealers, books and artworks around the world and their impact on the development of global impressionism. It includes essays on the early reception and appropriation of this modern style of painting in Japan, Australia, South Africa, Turkey, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries, Italy, Britain and the USA, as well as France.
