Abstract
The aim of our study is to map regulation, production, distribution and consumption of pharmaceuticals in two South Asian countries, namely India and Nepal and to understand the contexts of pharmaceutical use in South Asia. This paper is concerned with the role of regulation and its enforcement in India and Nepal with respect to one specific regulatory requirement - Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) - the guidelines which govern the production, distribution and supply of a drug.
