Abstract / Description of output

Is it possible for an anthropologist to collaborate—actually collaborate—with scientists? Amber Benezra fields this complex question in her book, Gut Anthro, and comes to an equally complex answer. Written during a 13-year engagement with microbiome scientists, she moves from her PhD position in one of the most respected and well-funded labs in the burgeoning field of human microbiome research to her present engagement with a younger generation of scientists, describing both traumas and productive relationships that are never neatly one or the other.
