Abstract

An investigation of the appropriate use of contemporary art installations to create a therapeutic healthcare environment, where the psychology of space is informed by colour, form and imagery to become a component of the healing process. The project involved creating artworks and commissioning other artists to install permanent, site specific, artworks in the new build Midpark Psychiatric Hospital in Dumfries. Other artists' work I curated into the project were Alexander Hamilton and the poet, Gerry Loose. The project was commissioned by DG Arts with a total budget of £85,000
