Polemics illumine, even as they obscure. John Milbank and Adrian Pabst clarified a number of their theopolitical positions on Islam and Christendom and challenged my reading of their work. Nonetheless, their joint response has not fundamentally changed my assessment of the rhetorical function that Islam plays within their respective theopolitical projects.
