Abstract

This is a scoping review and does not have a hypothesis. Instead, the review aims to systematically explore existing evidence on the principles, strategies, and practices for implementing gender mainstreaming in public health research. The objectives are to identify key values, frameworks, and tools for gender mainstreaming, examine barriers and facilitators encountered during implementation, and highlight practical strategies used to overcome these challenges. It aims to assess the impact of gender integration in health research and develop generalisable recommendations to guide researchers in effectively incorporating gender considerations in their work.
