Abstract / Description of output

Review of Mark Britnell's book of the same name (2019, Oxford University Press). The authors summarise and critique the chapters, drawing out key messages for future health systems. The book has chapters covering workforce challenges in 10 nations alongside chapters on the role of governments, transforming human resources management, technology and automation, involving patients /citizens as allies, attracting and retaining women and the importance of HR for realising Universal Health Coverage. The authors draw particular attention to the role of digital technologies and data, given their own research interests in eHealth, human resources and workforce analytics.
