The primary funders of the project, Schering Foundation, offered three stipends for students of art and cultural studies at the Humboldt University for the summer semester 2012. To be awarded a stipend, students had to submit a short essay on the question: 'What are the benefits from your point of view, of an interdisciplinary approach to projects at the intersection of art and science, and how is this implemented in the current exhibitions by Ilana Halperin, Hand Held Lava and Steine?'
