Abstract / Description of output

Eighteenth-Century merchants encountered a world of enslavement. This paper explores the specific importation not Scotland of an enslaved black servant, probably intended as a page, by a small Scottish firm engaged in the Atlantic trade for a client, drawing more general conclusions from it.
