Abstract / Description of output

A collaborative project and residency supported by the Jane Steet Art Center in Saugerties, NY.

I worked with the Scottish musicians, Raymond MacDonald and George Burt, American musician, Marilyn Crispell, and New York artist Melinda Stickney Gibson during a month-long residency at the Jane Street Art Center in July of 2022.

It was an experimental period where musicians and artists worked together to create paintings, drawings and installations to be interpreted in a number of musical performances throughout the month. Two exhibition spaces provided very different possibilities for work and exhibition: a small white cube gallery, and a large re-purposed department store on the High Street of Saugerties.

We were part of the Upstate Art Weekend: UPAW is a connective annual event, for locals and tourists alike, celebrating the cultural vibrancy of Upstate New York. The fourth edition of UPAW will take place July 21 - 24, 2023, adding an additional day to the self-guided event. Participants include Dia Beacon and The Storm King Art Center.
