In space, nobody can copyright your scream

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract / Description of output

This chapter explores the role of intellectual property law for the question of space liberty. It brings together two discourses that despite their obvious practical relevance have not yet been conjoined: the status of artistic works and innovations created or discovered on celestial bodies, and the status of artistic works and innovations made by AIs and robotic devices. Combining the two discussions allows us to explore two dimensions of space liberty, the role of intellectual property to promote the sustainability , independence and liberty of space colonies, and the possible role in the debate surrounding robot rights.
