Abstract / Description of output

We present a prototype interlingual communication system thatis being used to collect a corpus of task based dialogues betweenspeakers of different languages. This corpus will be used to as-sess human reactions to an automated speech-to-speech trans-lation system. In this demonstration we show how the HCRCMap Task can be adapted to support data collection in this inter-lingual environment, and how we used easily accessible speechand language technology for the rapid prototyping of the sys-tem used for data collection. An explanation of the nature andpurpose of the data we are collecting is also presented.
