Abstract / Description of output

This chapter covers interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) training and accreditation in the United Kingdom. It clarifies that the United Kingdom's IPT training covers the 4 nations of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales and their respective healthcare systems. Moreover, UK training highlighted the focus on clinicians providing detailed formulations, promotion of routine use of interpersonal sensitivities, emphasis on mentalizing, and reestablishing social learning. The chapter discusses the future plans concerned with IPTUK taking a review of the accreditation process to widen access to training for the expanding low-intensity workforce. It also looks into a case example of a patient going through IPT.
