Abstract

Following the atrocious Russian invasion of Ukraine and in light of the unfolding violence, several learned societies and editorial boards of scientific journals have debated whether to temporarily ban all manuscripts submitted by authors affiliated with Russian institutions from being considered for publication in their scientific outlets. With very few exceptions, like the Journal of Molecular Structure, the decision has been invariably to not institute such a blanket ban, even while unequivocally condemning the Russian instigation of the war and declaring support for Ukraine.
