Abstract
The essay was commissioned to accompany the artist's invited work for the annual exhibition of Visual Arts Scotland (VAS) at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh. The text contextualises the extensive research the artist conducted into the intriguing historical and botanical intersections that pertain to the site, the Royal Academy itself.
