Abstract
Analysis of a novel by Cercas and a graphic novel that highlight events in the Spanish Civil War and Second World War, in which two unrecognised fighters in exile are the main protagonists. The investigation, in both cases, leads to the discovery of these unsung heroes who live in exile and whose historical personal heroic attitude is forgotten in modern society.
