Abstract
The parietal art of the protohistoric hypogeum of Chercos (Usini) is composed by two distinct sets. The first sculpted art is represented by a false stele on the outer facade of the tomb and by some cannelures that frame the entrance of the inner recess. Secondly, a rich and dense engraved art is distributed on the inner walls of the single chamber and on which the present research work focuses. The ornamentation is distinguished from the other decorated domus de janas of Sardinia for its techniques of execution as well as for its original iconographic repertoire (ramiform and scalariform motifs, geometric figures, etc.). This paper describes the process and it presents the results of the recording of this original artwork (unpublished yet). It was realized with a method using digital photographs and oblique lights. The technical and chronological aspects of the engraved art of Chercos are also addressed.
