Abstract
The Love to Read programme has been designed to inspire and sustain a love of book reading among children aged 8-11, and has been developed by researchers, teachers and other professionals, with input from children. By developing the programme in this way, we have been able to ensure children’s perspectives and experiences are included, while also ensuring the programme is informed by relevant theory and research, and teachers’ professional and pedagogical knowledge, expertise and experience.
