Abstract / Description of output

A central requirement of the Virtual Observatory is the ability to federate data from different surveys by cross matching sources. This paper brings together three different strands of inter-disciplinary work at the University of Edinburgh: the development of novel cross matching algorithms (Taylor, E. 2005), the creation of distributed annotation servers that allow astronomers to store the matches (Ricotti 2005) and the publication of the algorithms and metadata to the VO.
