Abstract / Description of output

This article reviews the monotonicity properties of quantified noun phrases within the framework of generalized quantifiers. This includes informal and formal definitions of increasing and decreasing monotone quantifiers, the monotone properties of Boolean combinations of quantifiers, and some putative universals that relate to monotonicity.
