Abstract

The finite-strip method (FSM) leads to the coupling of all series terms if the full Green-Lagrange strains are employed in developing the equilibrium plate equations. This coupling is critically important even for the classical simply supported case. The harmonic coupled finite-strip method (HCFSM) is very efficient when applied to large deflection and instability of folded plate structures for which both geometry and material properties can be considered as constants along a main direction, straight or curved, while only the loading distribution may vary. Successful application of HCFSM is not really possible without appropriate HCFSM software. Sequential execution of the HCFSM software is very slow and produces huge amount of numerical results so it requires suitable parallelization. In this paper we propose parallel HCFSM algorithm that combines MPI and OpenMP programming models.
