Abstract

In Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s first published prose narrative, the novella El húsar (1986), by way of which the author situates himself from the outset into a literary tradition that transcends the Spanish context, we witness the birth of the figure of the “héroe cansado”, around which figure take shape many of the key elements of his literature, and others are anticipated.
