Abstract / Description of output

This paper presents the first study of the grammar of Matbat, a language with fewer than 500 speakers on the island Misol (southwest of New Guinea). Based on original fieldwork data, this paper presents a descriptive analysis of the morphology and syntax of nouns and verbs. The findings are considered in a typological and areal context.
