Abstract / Description of output
The first observation of the Ξ©βπβΞ+πβ’πΎββ’πβ decay is reported using π π collision data at center of mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9ββfbβ1. Four excited Ξ©0π baryons are observed in the Ξ+π πΎβ mass projection of the Ξ©βπβΞ+
πβ’πΎββ’πβ decays with the significance of each exceeding five standard deviations. They coincide with the states previously observed in prompt πβ’π and π+β’πβ production. Relative production rates, masses, and natural widths of the states are measured, and a test of spin hypotheses is performed. Moreover, the branching ratio of Ξ©βπβΞ+πβ’πΎββ’πβ is measured relative to the Ξ©βπβΞ©0
πβ’πβ decay mode and a precise measurement of the Ξ©βπ mass of 6044.3Β±1.2Β±1.β’1+0.19β0.22ββMeV is obtained.
