Abstract
The first observation of the semileptonic ๐-baryon decay ฮ0๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโขยฏ๐๐, with a significance of 6.1โข๐, is reported using a data sample corresponding to 3โโfbโ1 of integrated luminosity, collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV at the LHC. The ๐โ lepton is reconstructed in the hadronic decay to three charged pions. The ratio ๐ฆ=โฌโก(ฮ0๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโขยฏ๐๐)/โฌโก(ฮ0
๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโข๐+โข๐โ) is measured to be 2.46ยฑ0.27ยฑ0.40, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The branching fraction โฌโก(ฮ0๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโข
ยฏ๐๐)=(1.50ยฑ0.16ยฑ0.25ยฑ0.23)% is obtained, where the third uncertainty is from the external branching fraction of the normalization channel ฮ0๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโข๐+โข๐โ. The ratio of semileptonic branching fractions โโก(ฮ+๐)โกโฌโก(ฮ0๐โฮ+๐โข๐โยฏ๐๐)/โฌโก(ฮ0
๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโขยฏ๐๐) is derived to be 0.242ยฑ0.026ยฑ0.040ยฑ0.059, where the external branching fraction uncertainty from the channel ฮ0๐โฮ+๐โข๐โโขยฏ๐๐ contributes to the last term. This result is in agreement with the standard model prediction.
