Optimized FDTD Schemes for 3D Acoustic Wave Propagation

Research output: Contribution to journalLetterpeer-review

Abstract

Finite difference time-domain simulation methods in acoustics applications have seen increased interest recently. The simplest scheme exhibits various weaknesses, such as numerical dispersion and anisotropy. More general parameterized families of schemes are explored here, with a view towards reducing such numerical artefacts through optimization. Numerical results are presented.
