Abstract

In this project, we are developing a workshop, (August 5th-9th), in collaboration with some of the leading proponents of the Synthetic Biology movement, faculty members at the University of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh College of Art. The workshop will be held in Edinburgh as part of the Art and Technology theme of the Edinburgh Festival – and will bring together faculty from multiple disciplines, including Design, Art, Biology, Engineering, and Computer Science, incubating them together in this week-long workshop.

Collaborators on this project are Alan Murray, Head of the School of Design, and Co-Director of Design Informatics; and Alistair Elfick, Director - Synthetic & Systems Biology & School of Engineering, University of Edinburgh; Anna Rabinowicz, Parsons - the New School for Design, New York and RabLabs Design.
