Abstract / Description of output

This paper presents a general procedure for evaluating the seismic performance reliability of RC beam-column frames whose performance may be represented by critical storey(s). In the first part, the quantification of the performance limits in terms of the limit curvature and lateral drift for three distinctive performance levels is introduced in probabilistic terms. The probabilistic drift demand is then determined from the displacement response spectra generated out of a large set of earthquake ground motions. Subsequently, the performance reliability of different design details is evaluated by constructing the seismic fragility curves. The effects of stiffness, strength and available ductility on the performance reliability are discussed.
