Abstract
We revisit a series of studies on the work of multidis-ciplinary medical teams with a view to identifying op-portunities for the use of intelligent systems to supporttheir complex cooperative work, and the challenges thatmight arise in developing such systems. We focus spe-cially on the activities performed during the multidisci-plinary medical team meeting (MDTM) and review theliterature on MDTMs, as well as our own longitudinalanalysis of several MDTs in a large teaching hospitalover a period of ten years.
